Many of us are waiting for a native iPhone Lync client, but the reality is that may not come to fruition for a while. In the meantime, if you can’t wait and need to make video calls from your iPhone to Lync clients there is a solution available, provided you have the following components:
* Lync 2010
* Polycom HDX/RMX
* a H323 iPhone client
In this scenario we’re using the Polycom Unit as the MCU, bridging SIP on the Lync side and H.323 on the iPhone client. Both the Lync client and the iPhone “call” the Polycom HDX 8000, and it is taking care of switching between active speakers.
